 Surveying by a qualified surveyor and member of BMSE (British Marine Surveyors Europe),  an organisation providing ongoing training, support, and a forum for information exchange. All surveys are undertaken with full professional liability insurance.

Gwilym Harris-Evans, Dipl. IBTC. Yacht & Small Craft Surveyor Surveyor is based on the border of Spain and Portugal,  undertaking surveys throughout  Europe on Grp, steel, aluminium & ferro cement vessels. Ultrasound surveys are automatically included in pre-purchase & insurance surveys of steel & aluminium vessels but can be commissioned separately if required.

Grp:  Surveys of grp vessels include moisture measurements using the latest Sovereign Quantum digital capacitance type meter with current software version 3-9. This operates in both deep and shallow modes to assist in generating a comprehensive picture of laminate condition .

Steel & Aluminium:  Ultrasound surveys can be provided as a separate service or as part of an insurance or pre-purchase survey. Readings are taken using a Cygnus 3 multi-echo type meter which does not necessitate the removal of the paint scheme.

Ferro-cement: The surveying of ferro–cement hulls is complex and difficult: to form an opinion regarding the structural integrity of such a hull after construction requires careful inspection and knowledge. I have been involved with ferro yacht construction over many years and I am pleased to be able to supply a surveying service for this material.
