Practical Sailing Courses - RYA Cruising Scheme

A 2-day practical course for the complete novice, suitable for those who wish to get a feel for what yachting is all about.

On this course complete novice is taught basic seamanship, safety at sea, sailhandling, rope work, steering and sail setting. Covering at least 100 miles in 5 days introduces the beginner to the fun and challenge of yacht cruising.

This course takes the experienced day skipper and introduces skills suitable for longer passage by both day and night.

The RYA Yachtmaster certificate is held in high regard throughout the world. The examination tests the abilty to both navigate and handle a yacht safely and efficiently. Candidates gaining the certificate can apply for endorsement to use their skills commercially.
